April 2008 - Beatport Awards and Live at Festivals in 2008

Two most awesome bits of news this month! First of all Far Too Loud have received nominations in the 'Best Breakbeat Artist' and 'Best Single' categories in the first ever Beatport music awards. Full details of the awards, including info on how you can vote, can be found here. If you think we have delivered the goods in the last year then please do not forget to cast your vote!!
Secondly Far Too Loud have announced that this summer will see their debut live performance at Glade festival in the UK in July, which will combine visuals, dancers and plenty of insane sound mangling. This will be followed by another live performance at Boom festival in Portugal in August. We hope to see you there!
Feb 2008 - Funkatech Reaches 25
Far Too Loud are very proud to present the 25th release on Funkatech recordings! On the A side is You Know The Sound, a brand new track featuring the vocal talent of Stuart Henshall, frontman from rising stars Subsource. With yet another unforgettable breakdown and stomping grooves this will be rocking clubs the world over. On the flip is our long-awaited remix of DJ Mutiny's concrete soul classic, Turning Point, which brings a darker twist to the original. As ever, clips can be heard exclusively on our Myspace page. Look out for the vinyl and digital release in March!
To celebrate Funkatech reaching release no. 25 we have done a special remix of Play It Loud, the Broken Robot Mix, which takes the guts of the original and turns it into a 4am psychedelic breakbeat monster. The Broken Robot Mix is available now as a digital download exclusively from Beatport, where it has already hit the no. 1 spot in the breaks chart!
Also forthcoming on the tune front is our remix of Music Is My Weapon by Hedflux on Sinister recordings (one of our favourite labels) which has already received Radio 1 airplay from Annie Nightingale. Check out the clip on our Myspace page and keep an eye out for the full release, with the original, in March.
Dec 2007 - What A Year!
As 2007 draws to an end we are feeling pretty high on the success of Far Too Loud this year and the hugest thanks goes out to anyone that has been involved in our music in any way, bought the records or come to the gigs. There are still some things to look out for before 2008 though...
Firstly this month sees the release of our psychedelicious remix of 'Control Freek' by D-Ranged on the Breaks FM label. This is the second D-Ranged track we have had the pleasure to remix and are pretty confident it will do just as much damage as the first one. There is a clip you can hear in the Far Too Loud player and the vinyl is available now from all decent Breakbeat stockists. Digital release to follow shortly!
Secondly we will be celebrating this years success with the rest of the Funkatech family at Mass in London on 22nd December, where you can catch all of the Funkatech and Sub Frequency Funk artists on one line-up. This is not to be missed! Check the Gigs section for further info.
Finally there is a new Far Too Loud mix available for download in the Mixes section, which features our favourite FTL tracks and some of the more funky cuts from this year which have found their way into our sets. Enjoy!!
Oct 2007 - Play It Loud/Fundamental Released!
Play It Loud/Fundamental has finally hit the shops! It's literally flying off the shelves and a vinyl repress has already been ordered only a week after its release. Having received support from all over the breaks scene and beyond, plus getting the top breaks tune spot in DJ Magazine, this single displays Far Too Loud's ability to creat pure dancefloor destroyers. Here's a taste of the reactions it's been getting:
Plump DJs - "Played it every set for the last 3 weeks"
Eddy Temple-Morris - "An Absolute Stonker!"
Breakfastaz - "Play It Loud is tune of the year!"
Skool Of Thought - "Very very good stuff"
Aquasky - "Superb, a sure fire dancefloor smash"
As well as a vinyl release, this single is currently available as an mp3 download exclusively through Beatport, where you can also look out for a forthcoming Far Too Loud DJ chart!
July 2007 - Funkatech 23 Announced!
As a follow-up to the hugely successful Louder Than Life series Far Too Loud will be releasing a massive double A-side on Funkatech in September, which will include the stomping Play It Loud and heads-down, driving Fundamental. Clips can be heard exclusively on our myspace page so head over there to check them out!
Also on the tune front, this month saw the release of an FTL remix of the Nursery of Naughtiness track 'Eyes' on Exceptional Records, which has received plenty of attention from top DJs including Rennie Pilgrem and the Utah Saints. With a huge bass line and a handful of tight glitched up edits it won't disappoint fans of previous FTL releases. Check it out in the Far Too Loud player and then go grab yourelf a copy from Beatport.
Finally, if you missed our mix on the Annie Nightingale show earlier this year then you you have the chance to hear it again as it was replayed on the Annie Nightingale Summer All Mix Special show on 30/07/07. It will be available on the Radio 1 web archive for the next week so get a listen whilst you can!
April 2007 - Louder Than Life Vol. 3 Hits the Shops
This month sees the release of the concluding part of our Louder Than Life series. Once again we have enlisted the vocal talent of Jenny Bell for 'What's Goin' On' and the flip, 'Shredder', features master guitarist Emir Hot. Here's what the press have to say:
"Far too huge for its own good. Serious." - EQ Mag
"...this already sounds like their best track to date..." - Mixmag
"Superb production with lots of old 'nu-skool' edits and several freaked-out breakdowns illustrate how fucking tame most breaks tracks ar in the beats department...This could be the most important track of the year." - iDJ
"Far too clever, far too good." - DJ Mag
The release has gained huge support from top DJs including Aquasky and Rennie Pilgrem and was given the Top Breaks Tune spot in both Mixmag and iDJ magazines! Be sure to check out the clips in the Far Too Loud player.
This month also saw us feature on the Annie Nightingale show on BBC Radio 1 with a stomping half hour mix. If you didn't manage to catch it then don't worry as we will make it available from this site in due course.
Finally, as the summer months draw nearer our gig schedule gets busier and there are plenty of chances to catch us in the UK coming up. Full listings can be found in the Gigs section. Be sure to come show your support and get down to the latest Far Too Loud beats that will be making their way on to vinyl later this year.
Feb 2007 - Far Too Loud scoop "Best Single" award at Breakspoll 2007!!!
Not only were we nominated in the "Best Newcomer Producer" and "Best Single" categories at this year's Breakspoll awards but we got to take the "Best Single" award for "Get High"/"Midnight" home with us too! A massive amount of thanks and respect goes out to all of the people who voted for us and have supported us in any way up to this point. Special thanks goes out to the labels releasing our stuff, the DJs spinning it and the nutters dancing to it. This is only the beginning...

Dec 2006 - Louder Than Life Part 2 Released
The second installment of our "Louder Than Life" EP is out now on Funkatech Records, featuring the chunky tech roller 'Get High' and the soulful and funky 'Midnight', featuring the vocal talents of Jenny Bell. Here is what the press report says:
"The brilliant-but-still-scarily-young Far Too Loud emerge from their straight-up thug livin' in the tough streets of Guildford, Surrey, to deliver the highly anticipated follow-up to their massive 'Dis Da Rasta / The Touchdown' release on Funkatech earlier this year. Nobody envied the task of following up that record. We all predicted failure. Everyone thought that this time next year they would be on 'I Used To Be A Moderately Well-Known Breakbeat Producer, Get Me Out Of Here'. But no! Momma didn't raise no quitter! From out of nowhere comes Louder Than Life volume 2 to win FTL another few weeks of dreaming that they might one day be in a position to pay their studio electricity bill with the proceeds of record sales.
Originally conceived as a coursework project for Dom FTL's 'emotional therapy for angry young men' module at college, 'Midnight' features gorgeously intense vocals from Jenny Bell, matched against a deep liquid bassline and keys which dangerously tiptoe the line between 'emotional' and 'dodgy garage tune with sped-up Shola Ama vocal' (reminding the writer of this press release that he did in fact secretly like those dodgy 2-step tunes with sped-up Shola Ama vocals...), making it one of those rare vocal tunes that has got the phatness to keep the dancefloor happy. Look out for vol 3 in early 2007!"
Check the clips in the player to hear it. Also be sure to check out our forthcoming appearance on Jay Cunnings Kiss 100 FM show!
Nov 2006 - Website Launched!
